Ben Pasternak: How the sixteen-year old CEO broke into the startup world Written by Michelle Beck on 12. May 2016

Being a sixteen-year old CEO living alone in New York is sure to get you some attention. But Ben Pasternak, founder of Flogg, backs up the fame with results. He created a game with over 1.3 million downloads and has just released a social-selling app for teenagers. He’s also been backed by high-profile investors and works 14-16 hour days to bring his ideas to life.

How a sixteen year old breaks into the startup world

Pasternak got involved in the startup world when he was just fifteen. He made an app – the game, Impossible Rush – from his Sydney high school that shot to the top of Apple’s App Store charts. Since then he’s dropped out of high school, moved to Manhattan and started Flogg.
Released in April this year Flogg lets users buy and sell things quickly and easily using their Facebook connections. Its investors? Former president of Tumblr, John Maloney, who has invested in major players including Twitter and Instagram and Paul Bricault, who helped fund 9GAG. It’s pretty impressive for anyone to raise over $1 million from these investors, let alone a minor.

We’re excited to announce that Ben will be speaking at this 2016 HEUREKA conference. He’ll share insights on starting a company at such a young age, inspiring students and other young founders. Pasternak will join a host of other great speakers sharing their unique stories with conference participants.
The agenda for the HEUREKA conference is available now! Check it out here.
