We’ve made the selection easier for you by picking out the best up-and-coming events and opportunities so all you have to do is get involved!

Weds 8 August: The Quiz Show From Hell: Sued, taxed and quartered

If you decided to go down the entrepreneurial path to avoid having to study something like law or accounting it probably didn’t take you long to realise that knowing the basics really would come in handy. You don’t have to fret though because this is your lucky week, The Berlin Startup Academy is hosting an event on Wednesday to teach you all you need to know about startup law and taxation.
Christian Musfeldt from Osborne Clarke, a specialist in startup law, and Daniel Frischkorn from Ecovis are the expert hosts and make sure you take notes because there’ll be a quiz for six audience members at the end. Winners get tickets to Campus Party Europe. But non-German speakers be warned: all the tax topics are in German.

Gründer Garage Competition: Closes 7 October

Got a great idea, but lack the funds and knowhow to make it happen? Start your application now – winners of the Gründer Garage competition could make their startup progress from a great idea into a great business. Working in conjunction with Google, the Entrepreneurship Foundation and Indiegogo, the competition is open to those with creative concepts from a variety of areas, including business, cultural, environmental or social.
Winners will learn to make an effective business plan by taking part in a training program for entrepreneurs. They’ll have to prove they have a workable and interesting idea as each startup needs to raise their first round of financing themselves via crowdfunding site Indiegogo, with additional funding from Google (from a pool of €150,000) beckoning for the most successful. You must be able to speak and write in German to take part. The winners will be announced at the Entrepreneurship Summit in Berlin on the 13-14th of October.
