Games distribution company builder Hitfox is strengthening its global presence with new offices in San Francisco and Paris, less than a month after opening a new base in Seoul.
Hitfox, founded by Jan Beckers in 2011 in Berlin, repositioned itself as an incubator this year. The company specialises in founding or acquiring games distribution and marketing businesses, including ad2games, AppLift and Game Finder.
The group is backed by investors including Team Europe (also an investor in VentureVillage) and counts Electronic Arts, King.com and Perfect World among clients and partners in the games industry.
“Mobile and online gaming are increasingly becoming global industries and we are already generating 80 per cent of our revenues from international customers,” Beckers said in a press statement. “The US is the most important market, followed by Germany, France and the other big European markets.”
The new San Fran office will be led by Nicole DeMeo (ex-Scoreloop and Peak Games). Jean-Philippe Decka, the new lead in Paris, has just left Rocket Internet after spending seven months developing Amazon clone Lazada in the Philippines.
