Hub:raum incubator expands to Krakow to target southern and central European startups Written by Charmaine Li on 18. April 2013

Deutsche Telekom is bringing its hub:raum incubator to Krakow to support startups from Southern and Central Europe. Both Polish startups and startups from other countries in the area will be able to participate in the program.

Similar to its Berlin-based counterpart, the Polish hub:raum will offer companies seed financing, coworking space, mentorship and access to Deutsche Telekom’s resources.

Today’s news doesn’t come as a surprise as the telco confirmed to us last year that it intended to expand the hub:raum concept to other cities and already had its sights set on Krakow. The new office belongs to T-Mobile Poland, which is part of the global Deutsche Telekom Group, and hub:raum will adjust its strategy to cater to startups from this part of Europe.

Hub:raum will be officially announcing the goals of its new incubator at two upcoming Polish startup events in Krakow: the Mobile Mobile Conf and European Rails Conference.

“We had no doubts that the premiere of our initiative should begin during the conferences which are significant for the Polish startup community. We are also glad that Blinkist, the first hub:raum Berlin’s startup, will participate in the events,” said Milan Zika, CTIO T-Mobile Poland.
Wayra, which is a similar incubator initiative run by Spanish telco Telefonica, is already located in 13 cities – including London, Dublin, Prague, Barcelona and Madrid.
