Jimdo is looking for a Country Manager UK and Ireland

Jimdo’s strengths are great usability (we have passionate users pushing 70), great visual flexibility (it’s very easy to integrate your own design), and high-quality integration of photos, videos, and text. Over six million users around the world are already building their websites with Jimdo, and we’re continuing to grow exponentially.
Jimdo is already huge on the continent, but there’s lots of room to grow in the UK and Ireland. That’s why we’re looking for a Country Manager to help us expand!

This position is full-time and based at headquarters in Hamburg
About the role
We’re looking for you to help us gain traction in the UK and take charge of:
  • Conducting market research and competitor analysis
  • Tracking sales and visitor trends and using this data to extrapolate market strategies
  • Developing relationships and communicating with journalists
  • Making connections for potential partnership/collaboration opportunities
  • Organising events and meet-ups in the UK and Ireland and representing Jimdo
  • Writing blog posts and newsletters and evaluating their success
About you
  • You have a good understanding of how the online business works and interest in what makes online companies tick
  • You are a good writer in English and can communicate your ideas clearly and convincingly
  • You’re a UK or Irish native and know the market inside and out
  • You are able to manage your tasks independently and bring in new ideas
  • You speak German or are willing to learn
  • Bonus points for experience in business development, public relations and online marketing

About the role

  • Planning, developing and implementing PR strategies
  • Writing reports on media coverage data
  • Researching, writing and distributing press releases
  • Writing articles focusing on Social Media and Facebook Apps
  • Building relationships with the media
  • Maintaining and updating information on the organisation’s website
  • Overseeing content production (adverts, social media and online PR stunts)
  • Bringing in new business opportunities
  • Managing client relationships
  • Overseeing social media PR strategies

About you

  • You love to write and are incredibly good at it
  • You’re a native English speaker OR a native German speaker who is fluent in English, both orally and in writing. Proficiency in an additional language will be an advantage
  • You’ve had first experiences in either PR, Social Media, copywriting and/or marketing
  • You’re a great networker and ideally already have connections with relevant contacts (ie tech sites, bloggers etc.)
