Berlin-based business goodbeans, formally known as Young Internet, has today taken over international app of the week Little Fox Music Box and the US’ 2011 app of the year Nighty Night! – created by 2002 Oscar Nominee for best animated short Heidi Wittlinger.

The apps were acquired from fellow Berlin company Shape Minds: “We are putting our apps in the hands of a company that is well positioned in the growing mobile gaming market for families,” said Creative Director Uwe Flade.

“Buying these apps is a great step forward for us. They match our high quality requirements, are internationally successful and offer a perfect supplement to our own app portfolio”, said CEO of goodbeans Verena Delius.

goodbeans is looking to launch two more apps for the iPhone and iPad in July, with WeWantApps! and the Jungle Book. In beta mode, WeWantApps! is an app finder for families, much like Berlin app-finder LookMommy! – which researches top educational children’s games for the iPhone, iPad and Android through its database of more than 600 apps. Emailed search results are currently available with LookMommy! and is expected to officially launch by the end of July.
