Music streaming app Senzari revamped and rebranded as Wahwah Written by Charmaine Li on 27. February 2013



Miami-based streaming music site Senzari is rebranding as Wahwah, after acquiring the Berlin-based startup (then known as in an all-stock deal in October last year.

Senzari, a Pandora rival, is streamlining its service into a mobile-first app which will integrate internet radio with personalised stations, where users can send music to other Wahwah listeners.

With the new Wahwah currently in beta mode, Senzari, backed by $3m in funding, will remain as a “big data company”. COO Demian Bellumio told Techcrunch: “It gives us the flexibility to start creating other products that will cater to other verticals.”

Meanwhile, the web-dependent Senzari has temporarily shut down its site as the product is rebuilt. Founder of the late Philipp Eibach went to the forefront of Senzari’s mobile development after the takeover. At the time, Eibach told VentureVillage that’s infrastructure wouldn’t go to waste as it integrated with Senzari: “Together we will bring back the experience, but even better. Stay tuned,” he said.

Wahwah is expected to launch its first release on the iPhone next month, with iPad, Android and web apps to follow.
