Fresh off the back of yesterday’s announcement of a $60m late-stage funding round, the future is looking bright for online event ticketing platform Eventbrite. Founded in 2006, the San Francisco-based company plans to use the capital to expand its European presence and mobile service. The new funding allows them to avoid taking a risk with an IPO – which, earlier in the year, was rumoured to be in the works.

The company recently hit some major growth milestones, reaching a total of $1.5b in sales from over 100 million tickets sold since being founded.

We caught up with Eventbrite’s founders (and married couple) Julia and Kevin Hartz while they were in town for the NEXT Berlin conference, to find out what they think about German copycat Amiando and how to make running a company as a couple work…
